Blondes Are Back!
2011
Warm and golden, or cool and pale? Decisions, decisions…
Whichever shade you favour, there is no denying that blonde is back! With spring on the way, we knew it wouldn’t be long before we saw celebrities reinventing themselves for the new season, but nothing was more surprising than seeing Kate Winslet sporting a platinum crop on the cover of Vogue’s April issue.
Striking and sophisticated, the Oscar winning actress suits this oh-so-sexy new ‘do but insiders suggest that her new pixie crop is in fact the work of some strategic hairpin placement. Faux-chop or not, we love the cool blonde colour. If you want to recreate the look, try LIVE Color XXL in Absolute Platinum or MAX Blonde.
Kate isn’t the only blonde to reveal a new look lately as Fearne Cotton has also transformed her tresses. Last week, Fearne unveiled a new grown-up look that is a million miles away from the grungy rock chick we are used to seeing. The Radio 1 DJ has ditched the dark roots and poker-straight hair, opting for gentle curls and warm, golden tones to soften her look and cement her position as a sophisticated style icon.
We’re glad to see that Fearne hasn’t grown up too much though. On Friday, as Radio 1’s Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave broke the Guiness World Record for the Longest Marathon Radio DJ (team) Show, listeners were promised that Fearne would strip to a swimsuit between 10.10am and 10.30am if the pair could raise over £2 million for Comic Relief. With the final total coming in over £2.4m, Fearne caused the Radio 1 website to crash due to high volumes of traffic as she stripped to reveal a black and white cut-out swimsuit!
