Can I dye over coloured hair?
Jul. 23, 2010 by Rita
If you are colouring your hair with the same shade or darker, you can colour over hair that has been previously coloured, making sure you follow the root-regrowth method in the instruction leaflet. If you wish to go lighter, please contact consumer advisory 0800 328 9214 to discuss the options open to you.

Do I need to wash my hair first?
Jul. 23, 2010 by Deanna, Wolverhampton
If you are using a permanent hair colour, it should be applied to dry, unwashed hair. We advise giving your hair a deep cleanse the day before to remove any product build up and ensure you achieve the best results when colouring

Hi Lorraine, you can see our rnage of shades at http://wwwlivecolor.com

Hey! I have been dying my hair Cyber Purple for about a year now and decided i would like to go to a blonde. My natural hair colour is basically the same shade of your chocolate blonde, which is what i am aiming for. I am a little stuck into how to get back to that point as i have been told what ever i do, my hair will go ginger. Any advice would be grateful. Steph xx
Sep. 15, 2010 by Steph, Cheshire, UK
Those are both lovely shades to choose! Unfortunately, lightening your hair so that it is suitable to dye Chocolate Blonde is a job for a professional hairdresser. Using the blonde dye on top of Cyber Purple wont give you the results you are looking for I'm afraid

hi asked a question about how to maintain a red colour like chery cole and i was going to you cyber purple but someone emailed me saying to use plum perfection instead, i cannot find plum perfection anywere? ive even done an internet search please help thanks
Oct. 19, 2010 by kay, uk
Plum Perfection is a new LIVE Color XXL shade that will be on shelves soon. If you are trying to get a colour similar to Cheryl Cole's then you can also try Schwarzkopf Palette in Mahogany which is on sale now

Hi I have dark brown dyed hair at the moment although the top section is slightly lighter than ends as I think it has a build up of dark brown dye which does look nearly black and I am wanting to change to red hair have you any suggedtions what I could do to achieve this. Thnaks
Nov. 13, 2010 by Beverly, Durham
Since your hair is very dark it will be difficult to lighten it up to a red shade without going to a salon. We recommend that you go to a professional to have the dark ends trimmed off and your hair coloured red. Once you have achieved the shade you want, you will be able to maintain the colour at home with a LIVE Color XXL dye.
The darker ends you have now are caused by colour build up. When maintaining your colour, simply apply the dye to the root regrowth area. This way you will avoid the colour building up over time and going dark

hi i love cheryl coles new plum hair - i think cyber purple looks pretty simaler... but i have currently bleached hair.. i was thinking going to hair dresser to have it done first of all and then recolour using your cyber purpler... can you tell me if this would work out!!! thanks
Oct. 19, 2010 by kay, uk
Hi Kay, Cheryl's hair looks fab but to achieve this look we'd recommend that you use our new Plum Perfection colour rather than Cyber Purple.
You should definitely go to the hairdresser first as putting the dye straight onto bleached hair could result in a pinky colour. Afterwards you can maintain the colour with Plum Perfection (currently available in Wilkinsons, Superdrug and Boots).

How can I cover grey?
Jul. 23, 2010 by Elsa, Edinburgh
Red or copper shades can be mixed with a natural shade to achieve 100% grey coverage but for resistant grey try applying colour to those areas first.and leave the colour on for an additional 10 minutes.
Schwarzkopf’s Palette hair colour range covers 100% grey hair. Find your shade at http://www.schwarzkopfpalette.co.uk/find-your-shade-uk/

How can I get rid of hair dye staining on the skin?
Jul. 23, 2010 by Emma D, Warwickshire
The important thing is not to scrub at the skin, this will make the stain last longer and irritate the skin. Try using skin toner on cotton wool , or warm olive oil gently massaged into skin and left for 15mins then wiped off with cotton wool. To prevent staining use a moisturizing cream or Vaseline all around the hairline and the ears before applying the dye making sure not to get any on the hair.

I have already dyed my hair a few times with the Mystic Violet Colour and Its gotten way to dark and I was wondering if I could dye it blond and then put the colour on again to make it look lighter, what would you recommend?
Dec. 28, 2011
Hi Victoria, we would recommend that you visit a professional salon to have your hair lightened. You are experiencing darker results due to colour build-up but a hairdresser will be able to fix this for you

i have black roots and brown/blonde highlights in my hair at the moment, i wanted to dye my hair to a red using the LIVE Colour XXL hot reds collection (51 cool scarlet)i want to know if it would actually work?
Dec. 18, 2010 by Lily Cheungg, UK
It is most likely that the red dye will have different results if used on top of the different colours in your hair. You should have your coloured by a professional to achieve the even colour you want (showing them the Hot Red dye as an example) then maintain at home afterwards using LIVE Color XXL

I have got an olive skin which colour do you think will suit me from live xxxL. Many thanks
Nov. 11, 2010
If you are unsure which shade to choose, you should opt for a shade that is only one or two shades darker/lighter than your natural colour.
Red and plum shades are extremely popular at the moment. A deep red from the LIVE Hot Reds collection would suit your skin tone

I used your schwarzkopf palette easy streaks blond level three and it's made my highlights a bright orange and stained so each streak goes this way greenish yellow turns into bright orange ending up with a bit darker orange as you can see: http://store3.up-00.com/Dec10/1GP56837.jpg http://store2.up-00.com/Dec10/bbf17093.jpg my hair is a total mess. followed the instructions literally and it wasn't my first time to do the highlights at home but it was my first time to use palette product.. if there's any color would help to cover the mess or at least make it darker ? any help wold be appreciated
Dec. 29, 2010 by Moony
This may be because you have dyed on top of another colour. You should call our free advisory helpline on 0800 328 9214 and talk to one of our colour experts. They will be able to help you correct your colour

I've been using XXL Live in Deep Black for a few years now, and really fancied either the Red-Black shade, or the Midnight Red. My natural hair colour is medium brown, how would the colour turn out, and would you be able to see a hint of the shade overthe dyed parts ofmy hair?
Jun. 16, 2011 by Rachel, Preston, Lancashire, UK
Hi Rachel, I'm afraid you will need to have your hair lightened by a professional as a red shade will not show up over black dye

I’ve had a reaction to using a Schwarzkopf product. What should I do?
Jul. 23, 2010 by Jade, Kent
If you have dyed your hair and suffered a reaction in the past 24 hours please seek medical advice immediately and contacts Consumer Advisory free on 0800 328 9214

Remember: skin tests should be carried out 48 hours before colouring, using ONLY the colour crème not the colour crème mixed with the developer.

If you followed the skin test instructions correctly and still had a reaction then please call our Consumer Advisory line and one of our colour experts will be able to help you work out why the reaction happened.

I’ve left my hair colour on too long and it’s too dark/too light. How do I remove the colour?
Jul. 23, 2010 by Ella
You can try using an anti-dandruff shampoo daily to remove the colour. Another option would be to try a product called Colour B4 (see http://www.scottcornwall.com/index.php/home for more information). It might not leave your hair a suitable colour from using on its own but it can take hair back to its last colour.

I’ve never coloured my hair before, should I use home hair colourants?
Jul. 23, 2010 by Sara
Home hair colourants are perfectly safe. Try a strand test first to check how the colour takes and always conduct a skin sensitivity test to ensure you do not have a reaction.
If unsure of colour, try sticking between 1 and 2 shades lighter or darker than your natural hair to begin with and then varying more the next time you dye.
Remember that the picture on the box is just a guide. The final result is a combination of your starting colour, the condition of your hair and the colour you are using.

My daughter died her heair bright red and has to die it back to dark brown as school will not allow XXL hair. What colour would you sugegst to try to get it back to dark brown.
Sep. 10, 2010 by Cindy
Hi Cindy, LIVE Color XXl has some lovely brunette shade too. Your daughter could try 89 Bitter-Sweet Chocolate or 66 Cool Brown. Remember to do a skin sensitivity test 48 hours in advance
